I get the distinct impression that more and more of us are attempting to hunt Vundo/Virtumonde down manually, since a whole array of programs designed to kill it appear unable either to find it or delete it - or if they do, it reappears the next time the PC is booted. I've had this for about two weeks now, have 'got rid of it' and seen it come back several times, despite running everything I can find to kill it, and posting a log on here for advice.

Whenever I come across a post here or on other sites which refers to a particular Vundo filename (e.g. wvwvu.dll) I'll search for that file, and if I find it, I'll delete it (or if I can't delete it, rename it so it's no longer a .dll file). I wonder if it would be useful to have an open thread on this forum to which people could post the names of files and/or registry entries they've discovered which arise from Vundo infection?
